"LADIES NIGHT"
USA TV Network February 18th, 2005
Finishing his work at Emily’s, Zach returns to his pad. An open studio type, a living room and office area full of computers, electronic gear and photo’s. Turning up the music, listening to "Welcome to Ladies Night", he removes pictures of Carol Ross, erases her name from the floor stand display board and replaces them with the new ones of Emily Morgan.

Meanwhile, the investigators get a small break on the license of Arthur Kirkland and continue to search all leads between the phone card, rental cards and Carol’s personal life. They discover that the license number, though not his, is real.
Art follows up his acquaintance by “accidentally” bumping into Emily at a design center. Here he pretends to be looking for materials for use in his back splash wall mural. They exchange design tips, pleasantries and formally introduce themselves as Emily Morgan and “Larry,… Larry Ogden”. Later, they get to know each other over a cup of coffee at a nearby café. Happy that he asked her to coffee, and hoping for a “George Clooney moment instead of George Bush", he requests a real date of dinner and dancing. “I don’t know how to dance, but I can learn.” he tells her. Charmed, she accepts his date proposal and departs for her Pilate class. Art remains in the café picking up the newspaper lying nearby.
The day’s headlines: “Embezzler Found Murdered”.
That evening, Zach returns to his pad to find his father waiting for him. Striking Zach hard across the face with the newspaper, Art angrily confronts Zach about his careless, sloppy disposal of Carol’s body.
“I just don’t want you to let this whole thing go down the drain because you get sloppy!” Art yells. Stunned and confused, Zach falls forward covering his bloody nose as his father continues to yell at him about the consequences of his sloppiness. “You’re lucky I don’t kill you”
Zach: I’m sorry, it wasn’t my fault.
Art: You’re sorry? You’re sorry? It wasn’t your fault? Sorry doesn’t quite cut it!”
Zach explains about the necessity to quickly dispose of her body because a police officer had seen him earlier and he didn’t want to be caught with the body in his car. Cowering in fear of his father, Art reaches for him and hugs him tightly. "The last thing in the world I want is for my son to get in trouble. Got that Zachy?” Art then apologizes to his son.
The investigators discover that the phony license for Art Kirkland actually belongs to a dead woman who disappeared with $80,000. Jesse and Susan now turn to the Sheriff to get help with the case and to find information on all women, 25-40 who disappeared with large sums of money. They discover eight such cases while searching through files at the police station. Jesse can't understand why women would fall for this guy. Susan tells him that some women are lonely, and adds that perhaps he charms them and tells them what a beautiful smile they have. Jesse is surprised that that's all it might take and that even Susan might be charmed by that line. Susan fears that all the missing women might be dead.

The scene slides over to the continuing conquest of Emily, with Art “Larry” and Emily making love as Zach watches them on the hidden camera while simultaneously watching a horror film on an adjacent screen monitor.
Art lies comfortably in bed as Emily fiddles around in her kitchen. He asks her if she’s thought about his idea. She isn’t too keen on it and refers to it as a scheme. He is quick to assure her that it isn’t as she returns to the bedside. He tells her that she’s “special”, that she deserves more, and that she deserves the best. Art continues with ‘We could run away together” and telling her that he loves her, an admission that surprises Emily.
Emily: “You’re making this sound like we have some deep relationship. I hardly know you!”
Art: “I think we’ve gotten to know each other pretty well.”
Emily: It’s been great, but I thought you knew it was just about the sex!”
Art is stunned, even looking emotionally wounded at her comment. She reaches out to try to comfort his obvious pain. He pulls his head away “You’re not gonna dump me!”
“I don’t like where this is going” Emily retorts as she starts to get up off the bed. Art grabs her arm and jumps out of bed. Full of rage, he grabs her by the throat strangling her to death shouting “No one runs out on me”. She falls dead to the floor.
Momentarily overcome with his own emotions and actions, he leans forward on the door frame as he stands over her body. Gathering himself, he reaches down and takes off the bracelet that he gave her saying “That was a dumb thing to say “ Nancy ”!” He turns and looks up at the camera as he walks around to the other side of the bed. Zach, looking a little squeamish after watching his father murder Emily, just stares back at the monitor.
The investigators and their assistant, Gates, find a link between the women and a company called “Mail Blazer” (Zach’s). They set out to investigate who this company belongs too.

Meanwhile, carrying on as if the murder was nothing, just a way of life and another day, Art practices his golf swing on his back terrace (Paul, an avid golfer demonstrates a great golf swing). Zach arrives with their dinner of fast food. In a softer, father and son moment, they actively engage in a fast food fight flinging French fries at each other. After Art tells Zach to get a trash bag and clean up the mess, Zach says: “You clean it up. I’m always cleaning up after you.”
Art: “Well, you didn’t do too good a job with that Ross chick.”
Zach: “Yeah, you screwed up with Emily.”
Art is ticked off by his comment and returns to swinging his golf club with a vengeance. Zach is quick to let his father know that he has found a new victim; an escrow account manager. He tells Art a few facts about her and Art replies that they are all the same. Art ends the conversation by telling Zach to get a new box for the bracelet., and returns to his golf swing. Zach, changes the topic, asks his dad if he ever wonders where his mom (Zach’s) is. You can see the anger of resentment fill Art’s face at the mention of her. He reminds him that she left them, after all that he had given her, she left them. Pointing his golf cub at him, Art tells Zach,"You miss her so much, why don't you get a box for her bracelet." He returns to his golf swing with added drive and stone-cold hardness.
