My mother was the daughter of Leatha A Glazier Morgan and Raymond Morgan. Leatha’s brother was Bill Glazier. I have a picture I believe to be my Great Uncle Bill Glazier and you look just like him. Also, I have a Indianapolis Star newspaper dated, Sunday April 23,2000 of my Great Grandfather Daniel Glazier who died in a fire at a wagon wheel factory in 1873. The article Quote “Gone but legacy lives on” “About 200 gather for the tombstone dedication ceremony in honor of Chief Engineer Daniel Glazier, the first of 71 Indianapolis Fire Department firefighters to die in the line of duty… 127 years ago.” My uncle Nolan Morgan was invited to this ceremony as Daniel was his grandfather! I know the spelling of the last name is different but it could have been some kind of glitch in centuries past, as I promise you look just like Bill Glazier. I was told a long time ago that you are my cousin. I’m on facebook under Cindy Bowington as I posted many pictures and the picture that I’m talking about is the last photo under Older Photo’s. I find researching family history is interesting! More important than that is Family and Our Lord Jesus! I truly hope that I hear back from you as I would love to meet you and share this article and photograph of Bill Glazier. God Bless you Paul!

Sometimes the words ‘thank you’ seem inadequate when trying to convey to someone how much they have impacted their lives.

I have been a fan since 1975 and I have never regretted a moment of it. You are truly a man of compassion, intelligence, humor, and integrity. You’ve been an inspiration to many and you are what others in our world should strive to be.

Shakespeare I ain’t but I’ll try not to shrivel.
What has inspired this sub-standard verse?
Another year passing, for better or worse.
Birthdays are odd as according to some,
The older you are, the quicker they come.
They’re really just markers of some point in time,
Yet to blank or ignore seems a dastardly crime.
So how best to celebrate these 24 hours,
Which the soft-ticking clock so swiftly devours?

When kids, our wishes were simple to meet,
A party with hats was a mind-blowing treat.
One much-loved tradition was ‘getting the bumps’,
But often this left somewhat painful red lumps.
Hence it’s not recommended for those over fifty,
Unless you are feeling exceptionally nifty.
Instead, get your kicks in some other way,
On this, your personal once-a-year day.
Forget for a moment that we’re all afraid.
Enjoy! Scarf some cake! And even get ….

…. stuck into unwrapping your gifts, at least one of which is most precious – this day. You could say it’s your ‘present’ (sorry!).

For our wonderful friend Paul,
a fun little poem to help celebrate your 67th birthday!

This was quoted to me the other day by memory by my 97-year old Grandmom. I don’t know the correct title of it. I have dubbed it,
“On Aging”.

How do I know that my youth is all spent?
Will my get up and go have got up and went?
But I do not mind when I think with a grin
All the places my get up and go have been.

Old age is golden, so I’ve heard it said,
and I wonder sometimes as I get into bed,
With my eyes on the dresser,
My teeth in a cup,
My ears in a drawer~(until I get up!)

As sleep dims my eyes, I say to myself,
Is there anything else I should set on the shelf?

When I was young, my slippers were red.
I could kick my heels up over my head.
When I grew older, my slippers were blue,
But I could still dance the whole night through.

Now I am old and my slippers are black,
I walk to the corner and puff my way back.
Since I’ve retired from life’s competition,
I busy myself with complete repitition.

I get up each morning and dust of my wits,
Pick up the paper and read the obits.
If my name isn’t in it I know I’m not dead,
So I eat a good breakfast and go back to bed!
